The computer only lets you adjust it within a specified range. They do give you a couple hundred rpm to play with, but can't go too high or too low. Maybe just have them readjust it till they get it smoothed out properly. It usually takes a couple tries to find the smoothest rpm range... sucks that the tech didn't double check his work and confirm it was smoothed out before giving back the vehicle.
