My wife has a 2006 X3. It has regular halogen headlights. The passenger side low beam keeps going out every few weeks. The bulb is not bad, it just stops lighting. I open it up, take the socket out, pull the bulb out and put it back then turn on the lights and it works. I put it back together and it's fine for a couple of weeks and then it goes out again.
The bulb seems to fit tightly into its socket and there is no corrosion or indication of arcing on the socket. Maybe next time (this weekend, as its out again right now) I'll see if it goes on without reseating the bulb...that might give me a clue.
Anybody else experience this? It's driving me nuts and I can't seem to solve it.
