For me, a 10 yr old pencil type pop-out which has run like a Timex and a cheapo digital readout the BeamER sales guy gave me when I bought the X...both are within a lb of each other.
I've seen "comparo tests" done on these ad nauseum...every test produces a new winner and new "best buy". I'd rec'd a good pencil guage and a reasonably priced digital; then compare them. If real close, use one and save other for back up.
I haven't autocrossed cars or raced M'cycles in years; the need for an expensive gauge that "may" be +/- a couple ozs. escapes me. But, you pick 'em.
Your mileage may vary.
