I have to agree with Trapdoor. In the 1950's when the BBC designed a country wide TV system, it wias specifed that all houses should get a signal with a roof mounted directional gain antenna. In areas of good signal strength, a loft mounted antenna could be used.
The antenna was never meant to be moving and so there is no doppler shift compensation in either analogue or freeview TV. It was never intended to be 4 feet off the ground surronded by buildings either.
The fact that it works at all is a bit of a marvel.
A newer freeview tuner is soon to become a nessesity and you cna only hope that your local freeivew antenna signal strength is better than your analogue. You can investigate this by loking at your local transmitters
