Just replace the FSR, its a bit fiddly but i did mine last week and it takes about an hour from start to finish, As has been said its a VERY common fault. You will see when you replace it that the original one has far less spines on the heat sink compared with the new one you put in, this causes them to overheat. I paid £40 for mine so in your money about $80
