I emailed the company before I did to make sure it wasn't a heat issue and they said it would be fine. There was plenty of room to lay it down right beside the angel eye lighting (long wires too were nice). I was worried either a. I couldn't close the housing lid with wires sticking out and b. water would get in. (With LUX)

I have had them in for two weeks now and have taken one side out and checked, no issues.

I honestly think the LUX is brighter and thus there is a heat issue. It's a trade off.

Mine is a 2011 if that makes a difference, it's my first BMW so I don't have a point of comparison on earlier models.
