I got the Vredestein Sessanta for my 4.8is in March this year. Compared with the BMW recommended Michelins, the Vredestein are a steal: they cost about half the price and look really nice!

Last week, after 10k km (~ 6k miles) I measured 5mm, which is about 50% wear, which is a lot after one summer season. Also, I noticed that even after a short drive, you can "smell" the softened rubber! I never had that with my Michelins.

Bottomline: although, I would expected a tire to last much longer, I will stick with the Vredesteins! Given the significant price difference, I can buy 2x sets of Vredestein, before reaching a break-even with the Michelins. Also, the Vredesteins are very quiet and comfortable to drive with. Depending on how you drive, the Michelins may tend to build an annoying saw tooth profile.
