Installing Backup Camera, Need procedure to pull trim off hatch

Hi Fellow BMW owners. I am in the US Air Force stationed in Ramstein Germany and naturally, while over here, I bought a BMW (2002 X5, 3.0i fully loaded). The parking spaces are so small in Germany and the X5 is a huge car compared with all the other European cars. A backup camera would greatly help when parking in the tiny European parking spaces. The need for a backup camera is very great here.

This weekend I installed a video module that I bought from the internet. It is of the plug and play variety and it works well. I tested all the equipment, video module and camera before the installation and everything works out great and for the first time I saw video on my navi screen which was exciting.

What I need assistance with is installing the backup camera. The backup camera I have is commonly seen on the internet, it bolts right into the reverse light. The problem is I have to run a power wire and video wire to the reverse light and the video module. I am looking for a way to pull the trim off the back of the hatch that surrounds the glass. Does anyone have this procedure? I certainly appreciate it. When I am done I will post pictures.

Thanks,
Jason
