it has been recommended to me not to get these wheels by eddy @ apexraceparts, who distributes them.
Quote:
The wheels would be a direct fitment with the correct center bore and bolt pattern. The wheels have a 1550lbs per wheel load rating. The wheel is flow-formed, which simply means the barrel has the same structural integrity as a forged wheel.
The important thing to note for your application, is that these wheels and any other light weight wheel will be prone to the same bending damage as your oem wheels. light weight wheels and SUV's do not mix well.
If your car is equipped with run-flat tires, then that is most likely the reason for you wheel damage. If you are already on normal tires and you're still getting this type of damage, then I would turn away from light weight wheels, and get something that is on the heavier side (more metal content).
Let me know what tire's you are running, and I'll let you know if I would still recommend running the ARC-8 wheel. If I don't then I can point you in the right direction, and steer you away from others.

The Barrel is strong, but it's been thinned down like all light weight wheel, to be just strong enough.
I honestly do not recommend it for your X3 if you've been bending wheels even with non run-flat tires.
I know every other vendor would go ahead and say yes since it meets/exceeds the load rating requirements, but honestly your X3 will bend a wide range of other wheels as well, and most vendors will say anything to close a sale.
I do not recommend you install light weight wheels of any kind on your X3, unless you're willing to deal with replacement/repair. You'd probably wouldn't have problem with BBS, as their wheels aren't very light (more metal, stronger).
Cast wheels like VMR, miro... will be even more prone to damage.
If you lived here in Cali where the roads are smooth, it would be a different story. Your situation just brings up a red flag for wheel damage. I'd rather not make a sale, if it prevents someone from being a potential unhappy customer.
