I've got the 20" staggered wheel sets w. the Toyo Proxes, now I know it would be ideal to get 17's or 18's or even swap out the tires for some Pirelli Ice/Snow rubbers but living in socal you just don't need a dedicated set...only trouble is when I go up to the mountains once every few months but even then most of time it's only a thin layer of ice as the resorts maintain the roads consistently through heavy snow storms
So I talked to some auto stores and they told me since I have awd it would be smarter to install snow chains on the front rather than the rear? Is this true, even with AWD or 4WD drive suv's I always see the chains installed on the rear...now I did also find 315/35/20 chains from vulcan tire,

BTW just got back from the mtns(Mammoth)...and with a thin layer of ice man I felt my car kind of drift but luckily was still able to maintain control....all the X5's that I saw up there which were about 10+ all had snowchains so everyone kept asking me how mine performed..and dam those darn jeep cherokees, every single one were driving like 40mph+ on the ice
