I don't think it is covered for your 2005 CPO. I just changed battery on my 2007, which is still on factory warranty...and even in my case they said it's not always covered, so they will see what they can do. To help them to decide - I gave $30 tip to my SA...and they "decided" correctly

You should check your CPO warranty..it is a "bit" different than factory original. If you will go to local autostore - it should not cost more than $200 to change it.
