There is some kind of problem, and on vehicles with so much electronics tied together it only takes one problem to cause multiple issues... I would consider bringing it to the dealer for a full diagnosis, but make sure you give the tech all the details you can about the problem because that makes all the difference in the world.
Example:
I just fixed a car on it's second visit because on it's first visit it was written up as "rubbing sound upon acceleration". I test drove it a few times and couldn't hear anything. When they came back I talked to the customer and found out it is more of a shudder feel when accelerating from 35 to 40 mph after driving for at least 30 minutes... BIG difference. I ended up putting a new transmission in the car under warranty.
