I did have someone who is a specialist repair it previously and it lasted about 15 min then started flickering and went dim again. Upon opening up the unit found that the same diode had burnt out again and after speaking with the repair guy he told me that he could not identify the voltage required or if it was a zenner type diode and he replaced it with something which seemed larger than what what in there.
