Yesterday I was unable to start the X, because of what I assume is a dead battery. I have not yet jump started it.

After some reading I am afraid that this may be CCV related.

How do I know if this is the battery, or if my engine is already screwed because of hydrolock?

When I turned the key, it made the clicking nosies, and all electronics and indicators worked.

After repeated attempts I drained the battery pretty much fully.

Is there something I can check for before attempting to jump start, so that I may avoid further damage if it is the CCV?

Advice please?
