I understand your point about the HPFP, although I don't worry so much about it myself. However, having a HPFP doesn't relate to an engine being turbocharged, it relates to an engine having direct injection. You can get a direct injection 3 litre BMW engine in Europe, with an HPFP, without turbochargers.
