OK, you were all right about the lighter plug jumper cable being junk. I had to use it today; wife's MB E320 needed a jumpstart. Tried the nifty-neato toy, and it just did nothing. Left it in, with the X5 running, for 10 minutes, and still nothing. Finally, I used my old-fashioned real jumper cables, and cranked the MB right up.

What a waste! Glad this all happened at home, where I still had the old jumper cables sitting on a shelf in the garage!
