Impressive. I have 20K on my X35d and have never gotten a tank on the highway to get 30 mpg. I typically get 26-28 mpg and I'm a rather gentle driver on the interstate (I've gotten 34 mpg on the highway with my 2005 Focus Wagon at times)... I might have gotten 29 on a single tank in all those miles.
Perhaps you have better diesel in CA.
