I had trunk rattle, misalignment of the trunk doors, and trunk lid would not open automatically (three clicks). I eliminated my trunk rattle by placing velcro tape (soft side) around the trunk latch, but I think the rubber stoppers were actually causing most of my problems.

I spent a good 10-15 minutes playing around with different adjustments until I found the right height for both rubber stoppers. First, I adjusted the stoppers all the way to their lowest point and softly closed the trunk lid to test it. Then I adjusted them a half-turn higher and tried closing the trunk again. I repeated this until the trunk lid closed tightly (no wiggle room) and quietly (no harsh clank when you shut it).

Now the trunk doors align correctly when closed, and the trunk actually opens when I push the button. I haven't removed the velcro tape from the trunk latch so I don't know if the rubber stopper fix alone would have stopped the rattle noise.
