I did not buy a CPO however, i did buy the extended warranty from Mercury insurance group. There's only a few things not covered by them, which i found out when my pump for the air system failed which runs almost 1200 installed. All it took was a phone call and it was replaced the same day no issues. Tires on the other hand a set of proxe stII will run around $800-950 and i have had them for about 15,000 miles with little or no sign of wear, like the op said all goes down to driving style. I would say i have never regretted my purchase and i fortunate to have had no major issues
