Problem Solved!!

Apparently the 16:9 monitor has a "sel" button which allows you to skip through the directories (albums), as shown in the picture from bimmernav.com.

The 4:3 monitor hasn't got that particular button. So I upgraded to a 16:9 monitor and it works like a charm.
