His point was the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx are not intended to be driven in snow. It has nothing to do with them being RFT, but everything to do with their tread design and compound. You yourself mentions the Porsche does fine with all-seasons, why try summer max performance tires in the snow.
BTW, BMW advises to not run the summer performance tires in the snow so its not like they aren't telling you not to.
