Northern, yes this is a real issue, any color will show. I ran my X5 upstate NY with snow and it is worse up there. Not so bad in the city as then roads are paved however noticeably worse on the country roads. My rockers got killed running the side roads. I put on the clear bra and it is working well but pretty heavily beat up. True test will be when I pull it off in the spring, and redo the rockers. You also need to clear bra the rear fender flares and half the rear doors as well. As for the mud flaps, the Oem are horrible looking, bought and returned them in 5 minutes, so for me that option is out. My recommendation is that if you live in a city, you will be fine. Upstate and sides roads will kill the paint.
