I've read the link below which is related to the e83. I have exactly the same problem on my E70 now!

Unfortunately I am out of warranty, so wondering if anyone has any ideas of how I can lift the carpet in the drivers side, without dismantling the whole car. I don't fancy paying for two days dealer time out of my own pocket!!
