FYI, Last month at a local independent shop, I had both front rotors/pads replaced on my 05 3.0 with original BMW parts for $550 OTD. (Family commitments don't leave me any time now to work on the car, so spending $100-$150 on labor to have it done was well worth it.)

I was having a metal to metal contact on my right-front brake. No sensors warnings.
