Pads, rotors, and sensors for my X3 was a little over $500, plus DIY. Used a friends heated garage, so I had to spring for lunch.

The time was about 2 hours.
Was that for all 4 sides? For the front it seems way to high. If there is a decent size lip around the outside of the rotor surface = time to change rotor and pads, if it is small, 1mm or less (like mine were) they will last one more set of pads. Just be sure to bed the pads in. Its a lot of fun to do!!
