Front shaft, rear shaft, or both? By bracket and hinges, you mean the mobile joint found on the rear shaft?
Anyway, front and back axles are not quite connected between them and they don't need the shafts to keep them together (not loose). There are independent shafts coming out of the transfer case, so for instance, you can drive with the front shaft disconnected (removed completely) as RWD.
