I grew up in Chicago and my whole family is still there--I was little but was there for the '79 blizzard and missed the '99 blizzard (have been in Dallas since '94). This pic of Lake Shore Drive is so eary--it's like straight out of the movie I Am Legend with Will Smith.
The story behind the Lake Shore Drive pics is a bus broke down and traffic was stopped for like an hour--the drifts and snow were coming so fast they got out of their cars and had to walk to safety.
