So that is a big hurtle to cross for Toyota for sure. Sounds like NASA had real software and hardware engineers pour over the code and set up a more scientific set of tests. I think the sterling image Toyota once had will be difficult to reclaim. I think their stumbles have opened the doors for automobile manufacturers to make sales and those owners won't necessarily come back to Toyota.
