Thanks for replies folks. That's enough info to persuade me to retain the OEM and source a Mk4 to replace the knackered Mk3. On this topic a local audio retailer has told me that a replacement OEM unit would have to be coded to the car by a dealer however other posts on here imply its a straight forward plug and providing my car is set up for the correct screen size and colour function. Can anyone confirm this
