I looked hard at purchasing a 3 series convertible. The deal killer for me was the hard top- no trunk space when the top's down. Anyway, the deal sounds attractive and I would think you would be okay, I personally have a hard time buying a car that appears to have not been loved. If you can see obvious red flag signs, there may be other things not readily apparent.

We all like to get a deal, but invariably there's a reason why it went to auction. One would think a BMW dealer would want to keep the car.... unless they knew enough to off it.
