Finally had a good drive of the new X3 and I reckon it's a ripper. Possibly the best X yet. In many ways it feels like an E53. It's certainly a similar size. Driven both the 20d (2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel) and the 28i (3.0-litre petrol six). The turbo diesel is way ahead of the atmo petrol engine, as sweet as the petrol six is. Three-litre six-cylinder turbo diesel to come, at least for Australia. But no 35i, the turbo petrol 3L, for Oz.
