Could be coming through your door, you will need to remove the door card and check the inside of the door for water collecting. Check the foam membrane has not got any rips in it as the water can come through and wet the carpet.
Firstly I would try poring water over the outside of the door and then have a look to see if water has started to collect on your mat.
