And yes - that was my experience as well. I've even proved - very early on, from 2000 miles on the car - that at higher speeds, it does better. 70MPH on the highway gets me about 24.5MPG/avg. 80MPH gets me 26MPG/avg.

Same for city driving - 45MPH/avg yields about 17.5MPG, but 55MPG/avg yields 19.5MPG. (all are close estimates)

And even before it's broken in, when you get it "up to speed," you'll see it just glides smooth as silk over the roads. It no way does it seem designed for lower or "average" speeds. I agree completely.
Ukwildcat, I am considering buying the gas model over the diesel. I am a US service member living in Europe and the speed limits here are higher than in the US. What is your combined mpg and how much city/highway driving do you do. I see you are getting in excess of 24/25 mpg in some instances. Thanks in advance.
