35d. Mostly suburban driving, 90% in a 5-7 mile radius. (eg: 1.25 mi to drop kid off at school, 2.25mi to work, anywhere from 1 to 5 miles to lunch). A Long drive is only 14 miles (Ikea...)

I found out that is not what a diesel was made for:

I have 10k miles now. For the last 2k, I consistently get 19mpg. For the first 8k I got about 17mpg. My tank will go up to 22 if I put a 200mile round trip in there (about every other month). 25 if I drive the tank out at 80.

I'm certain that if I had to drive across town to work, my mileage would be a lot better. But then again, I wouldn't be able to go 14 days between fillups.
