Depending on your use it can essentially do the same thing as the laptop with the following advantages:
1. Longer battery life
2. Quicker wake-up cycle
3. Portable picture album to show pics of your GrandDaughter, the Vette and cool mountain pics...
4. Watch rented movie(from iTunes) while V is shopping...
5. Less risk for virus infection and downtime...

I don't go to meetings anymore, don't use the laptop on my lap, don't feel a need to carry a tablet around in daily activities, etc. So, is a tablet simply a slightly more compact lap top, and what does it do for one vs a laptop?
