That is sad. Please update us on what it turns out to be. It is a bit strange how there were no warning signs. Are you going to get it fixed or call it a day and sell it as is? Your 307,xxx miles is an inspiration to us who have held onto older E53s. My '02 has "only" 105,000 on it and would love it to last as long as yours did/has.
