As for SF, I also get about 15 MPG. I don't think there's a completely leveled street in SF  . I live near Lake Merced and getting onto the freeway is a breeze for me. I also commute to Santa Cruz (75 miles), going on the 101/85/17, best I can get is 23.5 MPG, also while trying to squeeze every mile out.

Yea, going 65 in I5 is very stressful. We just bought a house 1 block off lake Merced. We are currently remodeling and should be done in 2 months.
