Thanks for all the comments, guys. It makes me mad. I want to give the guy the benefit of doubt but come on...I was only responsible for a $30 co-pay but still. It's not right.
As Chefwong said, I usually don't go in network. I have my doctors and I don't care if they are in network - they usually aren't and I just pay. My girlie doctor is head of OB/GYN at NYU and his office charge isn't $775.
That being said, I went to an orthopedic once before but couldn't find his card. I went looking online searching for his location. I thought this was the same doctor, but it wasn't.
I'm calling the insurance company. Let them look into it.
