This is by far the safest form of motorsport, and probably the most affordable. Despite that, it still offers a sensation of speed and is both challenging and exhilirating.
Autoxer - if we get enough people interested I will approach the LA chapter auto-x committee and see if we can make it official. Although it might be pricey, if the meet is in Palm Springs we could use California Speedway. If we meet some place else, maybe we could use Streets of Willow as a glorified auto-x course. What do you think?  |
CCA Autox won't happen. I talked to Kelly about this years ago when I organized the M3 Generations meet. There's an insurance premium in the thousands for 1 day that the CCA will not cover.
It'll be cheaper to rent out Streets of Willow and hold the meet up there if you guys are serious about having a track outing. SOW is similiar to the SD autox course where you can hit 3rd gear (but some of us are well into 4th gear
) IMO, its way safer then any parking lot and you can have way more cars participate since people don't have to go cone packing...
EDIT: also.. most here don't have helmets... you're gonna need a bunch of helmets...
