that was my point to the OP.
Truly an unfortunate reality...things go on in repair shops dealers included that would curl your hair.

Torque limiting impact extensions get you in the "ballpark", but a torque wrench is best. IIRC, the BMW TIS states that impact wrenches are not to be used, but guess what you see being used at the dealers--yup impacts...
