Right now I wish I hadn't, but in researching INPA (actually, it might have been GT1) I remember reading that modules that weren't coded for VIN caused them to not show up with INPA and caused incompatibilities and errors throughout the vehicle. If they were blank (ie replacement parts from BMW), then that was fine, but to have the wrong VIN in them caused problems - in terms of reading them and their logs, and clearing faults. It was in relation to lighting Control Modules but also referenced the entertainment items as well.

Live and learn I guess, I figure since the smoke hasn't escaped out of it yet, we are still in the hunt to get it working

If at the end of the day it doesn't work, its off to the range and unleash the .50 cal on its ar$e
