at about 100k my 4.6's tranny went south, well actually the seal in the torque converter went bad. Either way, it ended up in the shop with a large labor bill. I got another 22k miles down the road and the transmission itself went out. So when it comes out of the shop this time, its going straight to a car lot and being traded in on a new car.
