Yes, it is made worse by the fact that no company involved, Verizon, Microsoft, or Palm, will accept responsibility for the problem, which makes it impossible to rectify.
I believe the easiest, best way to get a phone to work, unfortunately, is to go GSM, with an unbranded, unlocked phone. That way, the carriers cannot tamper with the software and reduce the Bluetooth functionality in the process.
The Sony p990, due out any time, will have a 2MP camera, push e-mail capability, you can connect up to 5 Bluetooth devices simultaneously, and its predecessor, the p910, as I mentioned earlier, works better than any other phone I've tested in my vehicle. I think I'll be a T-Mo customer with an unbranded p990 as soon as they come out.
