Employees are one thing....
But an independent company - with their own training and own insurance-that drops by to repair customer cars is another. Surely the MB dealer may want to control that access to be able to make a profit off their work, but please no whining about having to train and insure another company's workers...
And I agree, it can be easier to combine visits. But I like knowing WHO is doing the work and what their thoughts are on the repair. I hae a 'low trust thing' with the well dressed salesmen who write up service orders.
