I've had my valve body serviced before but I didn't have the issue you're experiencing. There's a way to test the solenoids to determine if they are bad or not. I'd have to look back at my notes to find that information. Alternatively, you can look for a transmission shop to help diagnose your problem. The transmission in our particular model x5 are made by GM and are similar to the transmissions found in the Cadillac SRX. A reputable trans shop helped me diagnose and repair my issue. The dealership wouldn't do much besides offer to replace the transmission.
