ok. My two cents. I waited too long for the Treo 700, and I am not going to abandon it for another phone or carrier unless it plain doesn't work. Right now MY Treo 700 works as a phone, as a pda, and the bluetooth isn't all that I would want it to be, but it works. That is, it has paired with my car ( '05 X5) and it picks up calls through the car. It does not display ANY phonebook numbers (speeddial or otherwise) but it does pick up a call when dialed on the phone once the number starts ringing. So...it isn't totally hands-free, but pretty close.
I have the V551 through Cingular, and it works flawlessly with my car's bluetooth. Addressbook, dialing...it all works as advertised. So I know what full-functionality can be. Still, I NEED the pda, and will stick with the 700. That said, I am hopeful that Verizon and BMW will hurry up and provide the added software so that BMW will list the phone (Verizon version) and we can all enjoy the full-functionality that we SHOULD have.
