Not a good article at all. It completely fails to point out that the X6 sales have far exceeded BMW's expectations year after year. It was never intended to be anything but a niche market vehicle - another point missed. The X6 is selling well in Europe too, but then we have the Diesel versions which give all the power but without the fuel bills. It's a lot easier to swallow 35mpg (Imperial) than 20.
I didn't buy an X6 because I wanted a car that everyone else has, I wanted something that was different. The 5GT is too expensive (in the UK) once specced up compared to what else is out there, and the X6 is cheaper, more practical and handles beautifully - especially with the 40d powerplant.
I already have an E53 and the E70 is too big and I don't like the styling, and don't need 7 seats. 4 is just fine.
