Not sure about your aftermarket AE, but the following was recently added to the LUX site:

Information regarding high temperature days
The LUX H8 V3 power supply has been specially designed to incorporate a temperature sensor. On very hot days the inside of the headlight compartment may reach very high temperatures, and the LUX power supply has been designed to turn off if the temperature reaches 100 degrees Celsius. This thermal cutoff is designed to protect the LUX and prevent damages to occur due to heat.
