There is something to be said for the premium paid when purchasing a BMW at any vehicle age. The brand itself stands for nothing less than truly exceptional. You paid well for your 2012. X5 and paying for its customized makeup and delivery. That being said, seeing that a large item (any dent is In my mind on a new vehicle) is significantly less than "truly exceptional". This means the what was paid for is compromised and therefore you should be compensated.
My response would be "fix it and refund the depreciation of value when the car is transferred from new to owned according current used market value"OR reorder and work out compensation there under the same value mentioned before but take into account cost of delivery.
I do not see this as complaining, I see this as expecting what is advertised. BMW is cutting back on a lot of things lately but it seems the published standard has remained the same (speaking from warranty experience).
Really sorry the delivery went so badly. I would have been very disappointed.
