I'm not sure what BMW has to gain by telling drivers not to rotate tires. Unless they have some sort of agreement with tire companies. That being said, one can do what ever they like in this regard but it would seem to me that the designer of the vehicle might know a bit more about what should be done regarding rotations.

As far as "'free [substandard] maintenance' every 10-15k miles" i would like to see the evidence that supports that statement.
